Statement for Students:
Due to widely varying laws pertaining to online education around the world, as well as inconsistent access to broadband and electronic resources needed to complete assignments, Truman State University does not permit students to enroll in distance education (e.g. online, field experience, or internship) courses while they will be residing outside of the United States (even if for a short time). Occasional exceptions may be made for international internships or student teaching at US military facilities abroad in consultation with the Provost’s Office and with sufficient advanced notice. Truman determines a student’s location based on the address they share at the time of registration. Students are responsible for honestly disclosing their location each semester – even if it changes after registration. Students who return home to another country during the summer, for example, should disclose that they are currently located outside of the United States. Truman may disenroll a student known to be in violation of this policy at the student’s expense.
